MEET DR. MICHELE PLOUFF
About Dr. Michele Plouffe
Dr. Michele Plouffe, PhD, has spent more than 12 years supporting children with autism and their families through high-quality Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services. Her journey began in college, when a psychology course on exceptional children and a nanny position with a child newly diagnosed with autism sparked a deep passion for this work.
Michele has extensive experience in home- and center-based ABA, has provided support in school settings, and has consulted with adults in group homes. She loves celebrating progress with families—one of her favorite memories is hearing one of the first children she worked with say his very first word. She is equally passionate about mentoring staff and helping clinicians grow in their skills and confidence.
Access to care is at the heart of Michele’s work. She is especially committed to helping families who face barriers to services due to waitlists, location, or system complexity. By offering autism diagnostic evaluations, she aims to help children receive assessments—and the services that follow—as quickly as possible, so families can better understand and support their child’s growth and flourishing.
After many years of practice in California, Michele is grateful to call Virginia home and loves experiencing all four seasons here. Outside of work, she enjoys running and spending time with her family and their dog.
